Update South Africa 08-08-22
Good morning, South African chiropractors. My name is Bharon Hoag. I am the Executive Director of The Chiropractic Defense Council coming to you today, August 8th, 2022, for your weekly update.
Still pretty quiet. I shared with you last week, a little bit about what’s going on with The World Health Organization. We’re still monitoring what they’re doing with Monkeypox. I know they’re putting it on a list of watched conditions, which is just insanity to me, but this world is a crazy world, nonetheless.
Exciting things are happening around the rest of the world. As we’re starting to see society stepping up and forcing their governments to stop the ridiculousness of what’s been going on. And that’s very exciting for organizations like ours to see, as it makes our job a little bit easier when the people are motivated and they step up and move. We’re excited to see those things happen specifically in South Africa.
We are still working with our legal team and still moving forward with our colleges. It appears we’re starting to pierce the armor a little bit. They’re starting to remove some of those laws and rules and regulations that they’ve been putting in place, which makes it easier for our students and our doctors on the faculty as well. We’re proud of that work and of our legal team doing that.
I’m going to leave you with this week knowing that I’m going to keep coming to you every week because I don’t want you to lose touch with what’s going on around the rest of the world. And I want you to remember why you’re supporting an organization, right? Our mission is to make sure that we’re protecting the rights of practicing chiropractors.
Now in that there are, certain elements are protecting also means defending you with the way the world exists right now. But the other part of doing that is also making sure that we’re creating a better future moving forward, that our profession is better positioned to be a leader in healthcare. Those are the things we want to start doing in South Africa as well.
We want to start looking at the legislative side of things. We want to start looking at the political aspects, really the governing laws and where things sit so that we can make sure that our chiropractors have the best opportunity available, to tell the truth of Chiropractic. We’re going to start digging into some of that stuff and giving you a little bit more information on what we’re finding as always. We want you to reach out to us. We want you to share with us what you’re seeing, what you’re feeling, and the limitations you feel you have within South Africa so that we can start working on those on your behalf.
We just love you. We appreciate you. It’s the beauty of being a part of a very large family. We’re all in this together. We’re all wanting to make sure that Chiropractic becomes a number one healthcare choice in the world. Our way of doing that is to make sure we’re protecting your rights.
