Big news coming out of Rhode Island this week. Also wanna share with you some exciting things that are happening around the rest of the world that are playing implications here in the United States. And more importantly, I need to share with you where we’re moving, how what’s happening in these other countries affect what you’re doing here and how as a profession, we have a unique opportunity to take advantage of this time right now. So lots of great information for you in today’s update. So good morning, everyone. I am Bharon Hoag the executive director of One Chiropractic and The Chiropractic Defense Council coming to you today, February 28th, 2022 for your weekly update. So, first of all, in Rhode Island, huge news that just came out. They have just released a new health order because the other one expired in this health order, they’re basically giving, they’re removing the mandate.
Essentially they’re giving you either you have to be vaccinated or you have to wear a mask. If a certain percentage of your practice has coverage. So it’s, it’s, it’s a weird language. We will be giving you more up to date information on this. Our legal team is starting to dissect it, making sure that we understand it completely, literally just got released on Friday morning. So this is brand new information. I don’t have enough other than telling you, we believe our initial advice is that the in Rhode Island is over that we can move forward. Chiropractors can go back to practice. They’re not gonna be forced to be vaccinated. They’re not gonna have all of these complaints going against them. We believe that we are finally through the worst of it there. So please be looking in this next week, week and a half, we’ll be giving you more information as this new health order to takes effect.
So great news out of Rhode Island. I’m very pleased with our legal team that has been putting the pressure on the government, through our lawsuit, as well as just making, writing letters, making calls as well as defending a few of those chiropractors that have had complaints against them. So I’m very, very pleased with our team and even more excited for our chiropractors to let you know that they’re, we should be out of the woods there in Rhode Island. Also some big things that are happening around the rest of the world that you need to be paying attention to. And I, I don’t want to go on a soapbox here, but you know, I, I, I look at the numbers every week. We’re growing as an organization, but our, our, our support here in the United States, it’s kind of plateaued. I’m very thankful to those of you are still contributing.
And I, I get it. Human nature is we’re very motivated when things are on fire, but that’s been our problem in our profession is we only care if it’s our house, that’s on fire. We really don’t care if it’s our neighbor’s house. And that’s why we’re so easy to pick off because we’re so reactionary to issues rather than being proactive. The whole vision of the defense council was to not think that way was to think ahead. I need you to understand we have a bigger war that’s coming that what we’ve just gone through was an attack on the entire world, not just chiropractic, but we have things that are coming at us because we’re gaining more market share. There’s going to be another Wilkes case that is going to happen where we’re not going up against the medical establishment. We’re gonna be going up against the pharma establishment, which is actually even more powerful than the AMA was.
And those days are coming. It’s the writings on the wall. As we continue to get more market shares, the world wakes up on what’s happening with the recommendations and the alopathic way of life. If you don’t think that we’re headed for a massive battle, you’re, you’re really not paying attention. And, and the reason I know this is because of the work we’re doing in other parts of the world and where they’re trying things, you know, what’s happening in Canada right now needs to grab your attention here in the United States. Because if it’s successful of what they’re doing up there, it’s going to come here in the United States. I need you guys to get the big picture of why we’re doing what we’re doing, why it’s so important that we win these battles in New Zealand and Australia. And speaking of New Zealand had a fina huge case that just one for the police and their military filed a lawsuit against the government about their mandate and the high court ruled in favor of the police and the military stating that it was actually against the bill of rights to mandate them to be vaccinated or lose their job.
So they’re not hiring everybody back. That was termin because of that mandate. So huge steps that are happening. And we’re very, very proud of the work that we’re doing in those countries to help provide those types of outcomes. We’re doing the very same thing in Australia. If they’re successful in Australia of keeping people pinned down and restricting their ability to practice, it’s going to work its way he you’re in the United States. I, I know we think we’re protected. We’re in the best country in the world, which I’m not arguing that we aren’t. But if you don’t think that when the rest of the world starts doing things that it’s not going to impact here, it’s, it’s just an unfortunate view. So I need you to get the big picture. We need to grow what we’re doing. Not because there’s a fire in your house, but because there’s a battle coming.
And if we wait until it gets here, if we wait until it’s knocking on your door, we’re not going to win. They’re too big of an opponent. But imagine this like, think with me for a second, imagine if we could get to that 10,000 contributor number, right? Just 10,000. We have arguably 80,000 chiropractors in the United States. We have 10,000 in Canada. We have 6,000 in Australia, right? We’re in South Africa, we’re in New Zealand. If we could just get to 10,000 people that are contributing to, to our fund, this gives us the, the resources to really start building award chess on behalf of our profession. And then when we do have to go against pharma, when we are going against the alopathic world, when we are doing the work that we know we need to do, and we know as we continue to gain market share, this is gonna happen.
It’s absolutely imperative that we start now not wait until that battle happens. So listen, we’ve proven the work that we do as an organization, we’ve proven that we can respond quickly. We’ve proven the quality of the information that we’re giving is accurate and it’s usable. We’ve proven we can get the best of the best attorneys when necessary. What I’m asking you to do is believe in the vision. There’s a reason we’re only asking for $33. We don’t want this to be a huge financial commitment. We want the number of people, giving a lot of people doing a little, and then we’re giving you information. And we’re sharing with you, the work that we’re doing and the impact that your dollars are making, you know, there are things happening still in our country. We know of a bill in California right now that they’re trying to put in play and we’re working with the CCA there.
And we’re gonna be tracking that bill and ensuring that they’re not mandating vaccinations for all employers in Canada, in California. We know about the things that have happened in Illinois. We are aware we’re tracking all of these things. We’re still working to get chiropractors into the military, all of these restrictions and things that we’ve had, that haven’t allowed chiropractors to operate freely. That is the work that we’re doing. And so I need you to have the bigness of what’s going on. And right now the United States is no longer the majority of the defense council of our 3,500 contributors. We’re not even half of that anymore. We, you know, Australia and New Zealand and South Africa, you know, a lot of these countries are making up the majority of the, the contributors that we have. And that’s just of unfortunate, considering the amount of chiropractors we have here in the United States.
So I’m asking you to start thinking beyond what we’re in right now and start thinking about what’s coming. We need to generate millions of dollars, have that in a war chest so that the minute anything happens, we can start attacking those issues. Like we were able to do here with these mandates in the Panda. So I’m asking you to think bigger here in the United States, I’m gonna be bringing more information about where we’re headed and the things that are happening that will impact you. But I need you to not feel like that has to happen for you to be able to contribute. If we can start thinking proactively, then we’re never gonna need to worry about being afraid. And I had a great convers with Dr. Tony IBO this week, sharing with him the vision of really backing those people that are speaking truth. There are so many chiropractors that right now are not really standing up and speaking the truth of chiropractic because they’re very fearful of being shut down on social media or their businesses.
You know, PayPal no longer covering them. The things of that nature. That’s exactly why the defense counsel exists. If you’re speaking truth, if you’re doing what’s right, and you’re within the confines of your scope and within your license, we are there to defend you. If any of that stuff happens, we can support you. We can make sure that those things happen if PayPal or Facebook or any of those people are gonna do shut you down. Who’s to say that we can’t create our own platform to go out there and start making things happen, to speak the truth, something different like signal or telegram or, or duck, duck go. Any of these other things, we can partner with them and work with them because we, we have the resources. We have the numbers, we have the power to be able to ensure that our information continues to disseminate.
That’s the bigness that we need to think about as we’re going through spreading the truth of chiropractic throughout our world. Remember the, the, the mission of our organization, not only to protect the rights of practicing chiropractors, but ultimately to make chiropractic the number one healthcare choice in the world. But I can’t do that without you. So please share this video, share your experience with the chiropractic defense council, with your colleagues. We need to grow our contribution base. Our goal is 10,000 contributors. By the end of this year, we’ve got a third of that. We’re at 3,500 a quarter of that rather we’re at 3,500. And so we’ve got a lot of work to do by the end of the year, but I’m counting on you to see the bigness of what we’re doing so that together we can make something happen in our profession.
