Welcome to our inaugural update for South Africa! Today is the seventh of March, 2022 and the world couldn’t be more unpredictable.
Well, good morning South Africa. My name is Bharon Hoag. I’m the executive director of OneChiropractic and The Chiropractic Defense Council. And this is our inaugural weekly update video for South Africa. So I’m excited to come before you, this is a brand new update. You’re gonna start getting these videos every from me, letting you know about the work that we’re doing in South Africa, kind of what’s happening around the world as it relates to mandates and chiropractic and the different issues that we’re facing. , so hopefully these videos are informational for you. You take the time to watch ’em. We try to keep ’em between five to 10 minutes, depending on the amount of activity that’s happening. For most of you, you’ve joined us because of a zoom or a webinar that we did about a month ago, sharing with you about who we are as the defense council, the work that we’re gonna be doing there in South Africa.
The bigness of our organization is about protecting the rights of practicing chiropractors around the world. Right now, the biggest fire that has been raging is obviously the mandates and the pandemic and, and vaccines and things of that nature. So we’ve been doing a lot of that work, but we exist because the profession of chiropractic has been under attack since its inception. Although we’ve survived and, and we’re still here 126 years later, we oftentimes are very inefficient about our methods, defending our rights and making sure that we’re taking advantages of opportunities to grow. So our organization is designed to kind of be in existence forever to be like that defense system that is there to make sure that your rights are protected. Right now in South Africa, you don’t have mandates that are affecting your ability to practice, but we are having with issues with your universities.
We have actually retained a legal firm and just this week we sent out a letter to 11 universities putting them on notice that they have no right to be forcing students to be vaccinated, to continue their program. So we have chiropractic students that are being told they cannot continue their program unless they are vaccinated, or they can’t get access to the university unless they are vaccinated. So we are working in conjunction with a number of other groups. There’s a group that’s working for a lot of other, universities and specialties. So we’re collaborating with other people to try to make sure cuz it doesn’t just affect our chiropractic students that affect students of other specialties as well. And so we’re working in conjunction and we’re helping to support financially, , this effort. So as we have more information on this, right now, what we’re doing is we’ve sent a notice to the universities, letting them know that this behavior is really not appropriate, but we are preparing an actual legal battle that we will be putting forward.
If they do not back down from their current stance, obviously around the rest of the world, we’re seeing all these governments starting to back down, even the most tyrannical governments of Canada and Australia and New Zealand, they’ve really occupied that role of, of the worst as far as restricting their, their populations. We’re starting to see it break down. New Zealand just had a massive lawsuit that was brought against the government on behalf of the police and their military and the high court in New Zealand ruled that, , it was unconstitutional or their bill of rights to be mandating that. So that has just started to unravel the government’s control there in New Zealand in, so in Australia we have similar lawsuits. We have brought a lawsuit forward on behalf of chiropractors and allied health professionals. And we’re gaining ground on that. We’ve also seen other suits in other states within Australia that that are winning the mandates are being beat in court.
So not only that we’re seeing massive evidence coming out, showing the ineffectiveness of the vaccine, showing that these types of shutdowns and mandates are not effective at controlling the spread and therefore they’re losing their grip. So we, we believe this is gonna be a relatively short battle there in South Africa. , but we want to keep you updated. We want you to know the work we’re doing. We want you to know those of you that are contributing where your dollars are going. We’re obviously spending more money than we’re bringing in in South Africa. We’re just new in your country. So we are asking that you help us spread the word, , the work that we’re doing again, our, our ask is, is relatively nominal. It’s 33 us dollars a month. , and so it’s not a huge ask, but if we can get enough south African chiropractors on board, it gives us a really good ability to defend your rights against anything that’s happening in your country.
That’s in any way, a benefit to you guys. So we wanna work with you. We want your information. We want you to reach out to us. Welcome to our group. I wanted to at least start getting the videos out, updating you, letting you know what we’re doing on your behalf and what’s happening around the rest of the world.
