What a crazy week in Canada, specifically in British Columbia! We did a lot last week! Please pay very close attention to everything said on this video today. We want to make sure that we have clarity as these government actions are pretty dramatic right now.
Good morning to all of our Chiropractors and Allied Health Professionals of Canada. My name is Bharon Hoag. I’m the executive director of OneChiropractic and The Chiropractic Defense Council coming to you today, March 14th, 2022 for your weekly update. So, majority of today’s video is gonna be on, um, what’s happening in British Columbia. But before I dig into that information, I wanna share with you what we’re doing with the call as well.
We believe that we finally got the examining board to back off. Um, we have a letter right now going to them confirming we’ve done all the due diligence. We’ve, we’ve done everything. We have all the evidence and we’re waiting for them to reply back that they are relaxing the requirement of a vaccination for any of our students that are taking the, uh, board exam. So we’ll let you know on that, for sure. I know that there are still some things happening with CMCC about testing and different issues of that. So we’re working on that, um, also to try to make sure that the barriers are lifted and most of these provinces and territories anyway, um, that we’re not getting, you know, just old, um, policies that just need to be revoked. So we’re shining some light on that and we’ll have some information for you. So now I’ll go to British Columbia because that’s where the majority of, of the issues are happening right now.
Obviously this past week was a crazy week. We had Bonnie Henry from the ministry of health, actually introduced the public health order late Monday night. We immediately went and did what we said we would do, which is to get our legal team to start tearing that P O apart. Um, we actually did a zoom call on Thursday night, trying to give everyone, um, a clear view of what we believe is happening, what that thing means based on our legal counsel, we gave you that guidance. I’m not even gonna acknowledge the P O that is not our guidance.
We, you have to respond. If they question you, we just have a specific way. We want you to respond, which again is in that guidance piece. So please be clear. Um, we’re not at asking you to, to be a rebel without a cause. We want you to be very calculating in how you respond. Our legal teams have done the work to make sure we put everybody in a defendable position, but at the end of the day, you have the right to choose your information, what you put in your body and ultimately how you practice as long as it’s within the confines of your college. So we are gonna continue to fight on that. Um, we’re meeting with our legal teams regularly.
We’re watching as Bonnie Henry plays whackamole with these things. We’re not sure we’re expecting this week there to be another revision in the P O um, if that’s the case, we will reach out to you. We will provide you with guidance as we did this week. Um, I know it seems like forever, but if you look at the amount of work that was done in a very short period of time, that is why we exist. As an organization, we are able to communicate on a higher level than most other organizations, and we’re able to respond much quicker because of the way that we work with our legal team. So I, I want you to feel good about being a part of our organization. I want you to spread the word. As I said, the other day on the zoom call, we need to continue to grow.
This is not going to be a cheap battle that we’re going through. I know this seems like an open and shut case, but my friends were taking on the government and, and that’s never an easy process. So I need your help, um, to spread the word with your colleagues, share this video, let them see and hear from me directly, and then send ’em to [email protected].
