Hello everybody, it’s Bharon Hoag, the executive director of the Chiropractic Defense Council, coming to you today, Monday, November 28th for your weekly update. Um, so we started doing these one videos for the entire world, and I’m excited to continue this pattern. We’ve got great feedback from those of you.
Uh, that said, it’s nice to see everything that we’re doing, however, I’m gonna mix it up a little bit more again. Uh, it’s Thanksgiving here in the United States, and, and I’ve just been obviously very reflective as I’ve been with friends and family and my kids and, and everything that this holiday tends to bring, um, to sorts.
And I know not every country celebrates it. Um, but it’s been, it’s been really a moment for me to just sit back, stop, and look back at the last year. I know that typically happens in, you know, New Year’s time or after Christmas, but I’ve had an opportunity to. Been an incredible ride. Um, the amount of travel, the amount of work, the number of phone calls, the amount of people that I’ve met in this last year.
It’s been really just ridiculous. Um, you know, my greatest honor is to serve, to serve in this profession of chiropractic is even greater. Um, and to be able to serve in this particular capacity has literally been my life’s call. Um, I’m excited about what we get to do. I’m excited to stand firm and be that blunt edge that beats for the freedoms of our people.
Um, and we’re gonna continue to do it. Our fight is not over. I think many of you know. But I want to take a chance to just thank you. Um, thankfulness is more than just saying, Hey, we appreciate you. Thank you. Thankfulness is a genuine understanding of the blessings that we have. Like being truly thankful means that you understand the source of where this stuff comes from, that you give credit to that source.
Um, obviously at the end of the day, everything comes from my Lord and Savior and, and he gets all of the glory and the credit. But the source of what allows me to do what I do every day is you guys. Um, you’re the ones that fund this. You’re the ones that give me the relationships. You’re the ones, that tell me what’s going on around the world.
And I cannot be more thankful than you. I’m extremely proud of the work we’re doing in every country that we’re operating in, but to sit back and reflect on the journey of how we’ve got here is just nothing short of a miracle. And I know right now many of you are still in countries where there’s great repression.
There’s a lot of fear. I know in Canada and British Columbia, we have ridiculous legislation that’s been being put in. I know in Australia. We still have more health orders and things that are coming out that make no sense. And New Zealand, I know there’s still a pretty repressive grab, you know, I know there are things happening all over here in the United States.
We have even crazier things being said and done as it relates to the pandemic and, and the virus and all of that stuff. I get it. I know there are pockets of repression that are beyond comprehension for most of us, so it’s not easy street for everyone. I get that. But at the end of the day, we have the freedoms to continue to fight.
Um, this coming month, we’re gonna be introducing a bill of rights. Um, we believe that there are certain inalienable rights that chiropractors have anywhere in the world, and that is the mission of the Chiropractic Defense Council to protect those rights. We’re gonna be sharing those with you. I’m excited about it.
I’m gonna be asking you to share it with others, right? We are able to accomplish what we accomplish when we work together, when we have a similar. We’ve kept our focus so lasered narrow that we’re protecting the rights of practicing chiropractors, that there should be no argument, there should be something we can all agree on no matter what side of the aisle you tend to sit on.
But us understanding the greatness of the body of chiropractic is so important as we go into the tail end of this year, into the new year. More things are coming. We all know it. The writing is on the wall. They’re creating these pieces of legislation to prepare for something we don’t know what it is.
Now, with that said, I’m not trying to scare you because I need you to understand we just had a call, British Columbia this past week and, and you know, there’s a bill there that is just unbelievably ridiculous with what the government is trying to get done there. But I, I want everyone to understand part of the game, part of the fear or part of their strategy is to keep people fearful, to create chaos, to create division.
It’s so much easier to conquer an area when people are divided and scrambling and fearful. Where we win the war and we will win it every single time. And history is proven that it’ll win every time is when a people stand and say no. When they stand up and they, they come together. They create this force that cannot be destroyed.
We’ve done it here in the United States with the Revolutionary War. It’s happened in World Wars. It’s happened in every country where people get pissed off enough to stand up and say no. When is that gonna happen with our profess. Right. When are we going to stand as a profession and choose to, to combine our efforts and resources?
That’s where the CDC stands. That’s where we’re drawing a line in the sand saying we can all agree that the rights of the practicing chiropractors need to, should be and will be protected. And that’s what I’m thankful for. I’m thankful for Dr. Steven France and for giving me the vision and the idea, you know, God breathes through him greatness on a regular basis.
I’m thankful for all of our board members that sit there and help guide and have supported us. I, I’m so thankful for all of the people in the profession that have taken the time to really understand. Who we are and what we do as as an organization and start understanding our place. I’m thankful for all of you, the individual practicing chiropractors that have funded this and allowed us to do the work that we’ve been able to do to keep chiropractors in practice, to stand up against overreaching government agencies to make sure that chiropractic is protected and not only protected, but given the freedom to proclaim its.
That is because of all of you. I’m thankful that God has given me the tools and the resources and the courage to be able to stand forward and take these leaps and to make these claims and to build what we’ve built and we’re not done. I’m even more thankful for our future. I’m thankful for a profession that understands the value of the truth.
I’m thankful for a profession that’s willing to never compromise on their values, that the truth that we know about our body and our self-healing, self-organizing, self-regulating bodies, that we are never going to compromise that message as we stand forward, not only within our clinics and our patient bases, but also within ourselves and our families, and you have my word, I will.
Stop fighting for chiropractic ever. This is my life’s call. This is what I was built for. It’s why I was created, and I am going to continue to serve in that capacity. Today’s video is a genuine desire to say thank you to all of you for your trust. I know what we did was different. No other organization operates the way we operate.
I know the skepticism within the world is easy to say, well, wait a minute. What are they doing? What are they hiding? Why are they doing this? Hopefully, over the last year and a half, we’ve proven to you, we’re willing to be transparent. We’re going to share with you what’s happening. We’re willing to work with anyone.
Our goal at the end of the day is to achieve. The work that needs to be done, not to get glory for it. As a matter of fact, we do a very poor job of explaining all the things that we’ve been doing, and I’m trying to do a better job of that. But I’m thankful, so thankful to all of you, and I pray that God continues to put a hedge of protection over all of you, that you seek to come and be a part of this, that God puts in you a desire to share the message of what we’re doing with your colleagues.
We have all of the money, all of the knowledge, all of the tools and resources we. To make chiropractic the number one healthcare choice in the world. The decision is if we’re gonna do it or not. I’m telling you, I’m willing to stand here. I’m willing to build the infrastructure. I’m willing to take the arrows.
I’m willing to be the very tip of that spear to make sure that we get that done. My question to you is, are you willing to help me? Are you willing to see the bigness of what it is we’re trying to create and willing to share this message with your colleagues? I’m not asking more out of you. All we want is the 33 US dollars a month.
That’s it. But what I’m asking is we create a movement that we create the greatest force of chiropractic that it’s ever seen, and we’re gonna do it by bringing people in, by being inclusive and by being trans. So that’s my message for you this week. Not anything earth shattering. If you were looking for nuances about your individuals, uh, countries, I assure you nothing major has changed BC British Columbia.
We, we just had our call. You got all the information there. That’s where most of the activity is at the current moment. Um, the rest of the countries will be back at you next Monday, and I will give you an update. But I just needed to give you a piece of my heart today, um, and let you know how thankful I am as I reflect and continue to spend time with my family this weekend.
Um, just know that I’m thinking about every single one of you. I hope you have a time to sit back, reflect those of you in the United States. Happy Thanksgiving. Thank you for who you are and what you do. The rest of you around the world, whether you celebrate it. We’re thankful for ya and thank you for being everything you are and for answering the call that God’s given you to be in this incredible profession of chiropractic.
So with that, I’m gonna bid you a do for this week. We will talk to you next Monday. I’ll be back at giving you the details, but uh, hopefully you feel my genuine heart through this video and know how much I love you and how excited I am to continue to serve in this capacity. So God bless you and have a great week.
