Update Australia 09-05-22
Man, there is so much going on in Australia. I have so much to share with you today. Everything about what’s going on in Queensland, the lawsuits that are impending, what we’re doing with our lawsuit, just so much going on, so make sure you pay close attention to today’s update.
Good morning, Australian chiropractors and allied health professionals. My name is Bharon Hoag. I am the Executive Director of the Chiropractic Defense Council coming to you today, September 5th, 2022, for your weekly update. Man, where do I start?
Well, first, the most exciting news, Friday, the 2nd of September, Queensland did remove its mandate for health professionals to be vaccinated. That’s the first big change that we’ve seen in Australia, as it relates to this particular battle. They did leave it in place for emergency care facilities and aged nursing homes, but they did remove it.
So, chiropractors and allied health professionals in Queensland no longer need to be doing rat tests, no longer need to be doing anything. You don’t need your COVID safe plan. All of that stuff is no longer necessary because there is no longer a mandate. Rewind, you still need to do your COVID safe plan, that’s still a part of it, but it no longer requires your excuses of why you’re not vaccinated. Sorry, I got a little ahead of myself.
We’re not completely out of this entire situation, but there is no longer a fear of a mandate. There’s no longer a fear of anyone showing up to your office or APRA or any of those issues. I think I shared with you last week that we have taken on a case in Queensland. This obviously will help that particular case where APRA has been coming after them pretty hard. We did find out that they are not going to pursuing right now.
We’re still not believing there’s not going to be some type of situation that’s going to arise out of this, so our legal team is staying very abreast of what’s going on and prepared. But again, it’s this whole bark and not bite thing that we’re seeing throughout Australia, and we have been seeing from the very beginning. So, good things are happening in Queensland.
Now, as far as the entire country, if you haven’t seen this, some of you have forwarded it to me, so I know some of you have seen it, but there is so much talk right now about it being made public that individuals that had adverse reactions to the vaccine now can sue their providers. And in turn, the providers can actually sue APRA and the actual individuals and leadership of APRA, which is just crazy.
This is going to be the next wave of the political and legal side of this stupid pandemic is all these lawsuits on the back end because of how the government lied and made false claims about doing their due diligence, all of the stuff that we’ve known forever, but there’s just going to be lawsuit after a lawsuit going after them. This could very well bankrupt APRA. This is part of what we, as I’ve been sharing with you, some of you have been asking me specifically, what is it that we’re looking to do within APRA?
And really what it is, is to make sure that we create a better framework to monitor these healthcare specialties, and there isn’t just this global political or governmental agency that’s just doing whatever they want to do. I’ve got so many stories of APRA coming after people and doing just crazy things and their investigation processes, being all over the place.
And there’s no standard to the method in which they operate. And it just seems like it’s willy-nilly, like no one really knows what the other side is doing, and it’s because the organizational structure is broken. What we’re wanting to do with APRA is we’re wanting to go in and fix it, where it works in a way that actually protects the general public from the different various types of healthcare.
But that’s not what’s happening right now. It’s more of a bully in a playground situation than actually having a functioning system where it allows the individual specialties to operate and have the support and information they need. And then allow APRA to actually protect the general public, which is their primary objective. So, we’re not looking to knock something down and put something else in its place, per se.
We just want a system that operates in a way where it gives autonomy to each of the specialties and they’re being monitored according to their actual way of practicing, rather than just this global idea of what healthcare should be. And then all of the other forms of healthcare are left kind of holding the bag, trying to figure out how that affects them.
So, lots of things happening in Australia. It’s unbelievable. I expect and hope in some of these other states that we’ll start seeing mandates drop here in the next couple of weeks as well. Queensland kind of started the process.
I expect to see that happening throughout the rest of the country before too long. But obviously, we’ll keep you guys updated. Big news, big things happening. As far as our lawsuit, we are talking to more people that are giving us money.
I talked to our legal team and they are so excited about this piece of litigation and the way that it’s structured, the impact that it’s going to have on the way that the government operates moving forward. Please note, that just because the mandate has been lifted now, that does not stop our work. Our work actually starts now, where we can start proving to them what they did was wrong and preventing anything from like this ever happening again.
So, please don’t give up on us, make sure you stay connected to us. We need you to continue to be tied to our organization. So, as we start going into the political side of things, the number of people we represent continues to be a substantial number. I know some of you have been through a lot of financial hard times because of all of this.
I’m praying that changes here shortly, and you guys can get back to practicing and living as you choose without the fear of any repression. But we need you to stay connected to us. We need you to stay plugged into what’s going on, the work we’re doing, and the stuff that we’re going to need from you. So, a lot’s still going on.
Our lawsuit is still moving forward. We’re going to continue to press. We’re going to continue to protect those providers that have any issues, because, at the end of the day, we need to give you the freedom to be who you want to be in the field of choice. So, we love you. We appreciate you. Lots of things are being done.
I couldn’t do it without you. We love and appreciate you. If you need us, you know where we’re at. Otherwise, I’ll talk to you next week. God bless you! (This is a computer-generated transcript. Please excuse any errors.)
