Update Australia 07-18-22
There is interesting chatter happening throughout Australia right now. I want to update you about what’s happening there and what we’re continuing to see around the country. I have some good information for you today. Good morning, Australian chiropractors and allied health professionals. My name is Bharon Hoag. I am the Executive Director of The Chiropractic Defense council coming to you today, July 18th, 2022 for your weekly update. I met with some of our legal team this past week. And it’s interesting, the things that I told you about last week, it’s been very quiet. We’re seeing things back down and a number of the individuals that had complaints against them have just been dropped, which is very interesting. And we’re seeing the government kind of back down. Then this week we start seeing that there’s a lot of talk about coming to the end of the year that they’re potentially going to be doing more mandates, especially in Victoria.
It’s just a very interesting climate. This is why we have our team. This is why we stay abreast. And also why I update you so frequently to make sure that everyone’s getting the right information and we’re not overreacting to things, but we’re getting the real information. So again, nothing massive is happening. At this point, we’re just starting to hear potential with mask-wearing and different issues like that. I believe that we’re going to start seeing a shift as we go into the end of the year. I’ve kind of been telling you that from the very beginning, I know there are elections in Victoria coming up, which will be interesting to see how that plays out with the general public, but here’s the good news. Here’s what I know for sure. The general population is never going to be treated the way they were in 2020.
I know that the government is as much as they want to be demanding and as much as they want to try to control, they’re never going to be able to do what they’ve already done. One time, because the evidence showed it didn’t work. I don’t think we’re ever going to go back to that. However, they did learn about how hard they can push and how much they can control. And we want to make sure that they understand that we’re not going to just sit back and let it happen. That we’re also more educated in this process now than we were back then. I just want you to understand that we’re working on this. Again, as a reminder, we have legal teams all over Australia. And we don’t just have one team. We have multiple different teams. We have our team that’s working on our lawsuit, which is starting to get some people interested in giving us money, which is fantastic.
Please keep sending us those contacts. We are raising money. I’m hopeful that by the end of this month we’re going to have the resources that we need to be able to launch. At this point, it’s all about resources. All around the world, people operate pretty much the same way. When the fire’s not burning, they’re not engaged anymore. We’ve had a few people dropping off of the contributive base. We want people to understand that the whole structure of our organization is about having a bunch of people doing a little for a long period of time. That’s why we don’t have to charge so much to be able to defend you. We’ve defended over a hundred providers in Australia and some of them have only ever given us a hundred dollars. And we’ve spent a lot more than that on legal fees.
But that’s the way this is supposed to happen, right? We want to be that group that gives you the confidence to stand your ground and to do your thing and not feel like you’re going to go broke or you’re going to lose your license in the process. We need to continue to share that message with other providers. There are still people emailing us today that are saying, well, you know, I just found out about you guys. So if you can help us by spreading these videos by showing people at this point it is a money game. Unfortunately, you know, we’ve been able to carry this now for almost a year and a half. And you guys have been amazing and we’re so thankful for those of you that have been giving. I don’t necessarily want to keep asking you to give but what I’m asking is for you to spread the word with others.
There are more than enough people out there that have the resources to help us do the work that needs to be done. That is going to be a benefit to all Australians. So this isn’t even specifically about our specialty or our healthcare. It’s really about all Australians. Our lawsuit is going to impact the world. We’re trying to get people to understand the importance of that, but it’s expensive. And so we’re doing our best to make sure that we’re carrying on the work around the world, but not putting ourselves in a position where we can’t do the work that needs to be done. We love you and appreciate you. Our team is rearing and ready to go. We’re watching and monitoring daily, the things that are happening. Just know that we’re fighting.
We want you to be a part of that with us, by staying connected to these videos, watching this, and then sharing them with your colleagues so that we can continue to grow our tribe. Right now, things are still really good. We’re seeing that the government’s backing off. We’re having no massive complaints. Nobody’s losing their license. Nobody’s being told they have to shut down. All of that seems to be to the wayside, but now we’re waiting to see what this next wave looks like as we draw closer to the end of the year. And we’re continuing to fundraise and crossing our fingers. We are getting some people to give, which is fantastic. And we’re hoping by the end of the month, we’ve raised enough money to get this lawsuit off the ground and be pushing the government and let them know that we’re not just going to take it. So lots of great stuff is happening.

I will be coming out for a couple of weeks. We’ll be giving you more information. My goal is to meet as many of you as I can to get together in one space and create a good amount of energy to move in a positive direction.
