Update for The United States 07-11-22
There’s a little bit of activity going on in the United States and Massachusetts, and some other legislative things that we’re watching throughout the country, but more importantly about the conversations and as we’re really digging deeper into the infrastructure of the profession, very interesting. The things that we’re finding out. So we’re going to share a little bit of that with you this week. Well, good morning, United States chiropractors. My name is Bharon Hoag. I am the Executive Director of OneChiropractic. We have put together the project, The Chiropractic Defense Council to protect your rights around the world. Today I’m happy to be coming to you on Monday, July 11th, 2022 for your weekly update. Well, first and foremost, thanks so much for giving me a week off. Our viewership just amazes me to this point. How many people still email me when we miss a week?
And, they say, “Hey, I didn’t get my video this week”. So it means a lot to me that people are still watching this video and staying plugged into what’s going on, not only in the United States but around the rest of the world on behalf of chiropractic. So right now what we have going on in the United States first and foremost, Massachusetts our team was able to dig into that a little bit. This is specifically the bill where they’re trying to remove the religious exemption from the state of Massachusetts, but that is not moving anywhere. Our team has made the calls that they need to make. There is a threat of it potentially getting reintroduced at another session, but again, we’ll monitor that we feel we have the right relationships that we need to to make sure that that doesn’t happen.
I want to thank Leah Wilson at Stanford health freedom as we’ve been working with her through that process as well. We are monitoring similar languages. That’s moving around the country, definitely in the democratic states and things that are happening. We’ll again, keep our eye on that. And if we see anything, we’ll let you know the work that we’re doing on that political front. I want to throw out, that you’re going to be seeing a video that I’m going to kick out a little bit later this week from an interview that I did with Dr. Garrett Soldano, who is running for governor in Michigan. I cannot tell you how important this race is. He is a front-runner. I mean, he, there’s a really good chance that he’s going to win that primary. If he wins the primary, we believe that he will very well become the governor of Michigan just because of their democratic governor and how horrible she was through the whole pandemic and all of that.
So this Republican primary is very important. I’m going to be shooting that interview out for you to be able to see that here in the next day or so. And I want you to support him if you can. We need to help him raise money. It is pivotal to be the first time in the history of our profession in the United States that we have a chiropractor. That’s a governor of a state. Michigan is a swing state, which means he has the opportunity to be able to influence everything from our political presidential campaigns to massive economic structures, things that matter. And, and I need you to understand just because we have a chiropractor, in a governor’s seat does not mean that everything’s going to be pro-chiropractic and that’s his perfect purpose, but the beauty of chiropractors is the way that views life. The way the lenses that we see things through are very different from those that are allopathic-minded. And so, as he’s working on commerce, as he’s working on infrastructure, as he’s working on those things, he’s taken a solution-minded approach. And that’s wonderful for the patrons in Michigan, the citizens of Michigan. So, but it is also phenomenal for us as we finally have someone in a top leadership position to take on these big issues of health, as we’re in this new pandemic epidemic area or arena of the world, it’d be awesome to have someone sitting at the table, calling BS on that stuff. So I may not affect you directly in your particular state, but it’s huge for our profession, huge for the country to have someone like that, sitting in that position.
And, and I can vouch for Garrett personally, he’s a phenomenal human being. So please be looking for that interview. We’re continuing to have conversations. It’s very, very fun for me to learn and dig, especially about the infrastructure of CCE, NBCE, FCLB, and all of these organizations that are connected because of the way that they build the foundational structure of our profession. And, and we need to pay attention to this. It’s been relatively misunderstood in our profession, the average field doctor for so long, we kind of complain about how things happen, but we don’t take the time to learn exactly what’s happening and what needs to change. And we are going to make this a forefront topic. Not because we’re targeting anyone, not because we’re going after them. Not because we believe they’re horrible humans, because they’re not what’s happened is a lack of communication.
It’s been a lack of creating a safe place to have a conversation, to be able to fix the issues that are arising. The reality is there is a civil war coming. If we don’t grow up and have adult conversations, we are going to force that conversation. If at that point they’re unwilling to have conversations and we’ll link arms and we’ll take it over, but we need to start with just having adult conversations and that’s the process that’s happening because there’s a lot that’s broken in that process. And I want to help coordinate and govern that process to make sure that we’re getting the best structure that we can and the foundation for the growth of chiropractic we are growing. We are going to continue to grow. There’s a shortage of chiropractors and this process of getting people through school, getting them licensed, and getting them into a state where they can start serving needs to be a primary focus for us.
And that is a massive part of the stuff that we’re doing here in the United States. So lots going on. I cannot thank you enough for your support. I’m going to continue to ask you to spread the word to your colleagues. We need to grow our infrastructure here within The Chiropractic Defense Council and OneChiropractic as well as within the profession. And that comes when we all start coming together and making things happen as a unit. So we love you. We appreciate you having an incredible week this week. I’ll be back to you next week with your question of the week. I’m still just a little behind on email. So if you have emailed me, I’ll be paying attention to that. But I also want you to keep sending me emails. Remember we’re picking one question. Any questions that you want that have to do with the profession of chiropractic and we’ll make sure that we use our team to get you the right answers and resources. So please email us, and let us know how we can love and serve. We appreciate you. We’re going to keep our eye on the things that endanger your rights to practice this amazing profession of chiropractic and know that you’re not alone. We love you and appreciate you. God, bless your week. (This is a computer-generated transcript. Please forgive any errors.)
