United States Update 08-08-22
A relatively quiet week in the United States, but I want to share with you the strategies that we’re taking in peacetime and wartime and preparing for the next battle that we know is inevitably coming. Today, I want you to understand the anatomy behind what we’re doing at The Defense Council. It should be good information for you. Good morning, American chiropractors. My name is Bharon Hoag. I am the Executive Director of The Chiropractic Defense Council, coming to you today, Monday, August 8th, 2022, for your weekly update.
Not a lot is happening across the United States. No real battles that we’re in front of. We do have a couple of licensing board issues that we’re looking into as well as some legislature that may or may not be coming down the pike. So just little things that we’re monitoring, making sure that nothing gets out of control.
I want you to know the massive amount of work that we’re doing. I think you would agree that if we just take the military as an example, there is a wartime activity, and then there’s peacetime, right? Our active duty military is working all of the time. It’s just dependent on what season they’re in that determines what those activities are right now the peacetime is probably the most important time of any battle possible because that’s where you get prepared.
That’s where you get Intel. That’s where you start learning and monitoring and making sure your troops are trained, and that you have the right type of weapon for the right kind of war. And that’s exactly what we’re doing at The Defense Council.
There is more coming, not only outside our profession but within our profession and the work we’re doing right now with all of the conversations we’re having, all of the meetings that we’re having with other organizations and I’m going to be having a lot of those over the next few weeks, really laying a foundation for who we are as The Defense Council, as well as the work that we’re doing. And I think there is some confusion there, right? There are still people thinking that we’re doing things that other organizations are doing. That’s not the case.
What we’re trying to do, is to make sure that the environment is the most productive for chiropractors to appropriately tell the truth about Chiropractic. We want to make sure that you’re defended, that you have confidence, and that you can go out and tell the story of chiropractic without fear of persecution. We want to work with your associations, not against them, but they are limited in some of the things that they can do for you as an individual chiropractor.
I ran a state association. I understand those limitations. It doesn’t mean they don’t want to. It just means that they’re not built to be able to do that kind of work. This was a deficit that our profession had and the same goes for our national associations.
They don’t have the resources or the ability to defend any one person unless that particular case is going to affect the entire profession. What we are wanting to do is to build something that doesn’t exist in chiropractic right now. When wartime comes, which we just came out of, with all of the mandates and vaccine issues and masks and all of those things, then we’re going to be on the offensive, not the defensive, which is where we are now. We want to be on the offensive, meaning we want to start laying out infrastructure.
We’re gathering intel and making sure that our profession is positioned in the best possible way it can in case there’s another pandemic, whether it’s Monkeypox or whatever crazy idea they come up with to start trying to control the general population. Again, we want to make sure that we’re prepared. Unfortunately, there are a lot of chiropractors that were negatively affected by everything that went on and all the uncertainty that has happened, and some of them have never recovered. We want to make sure that doesn’t happen. We’re proud of the work we’re doing in other countries, including New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and South Africa. And we’re going to continue to do that work here in the United States as well.
What you need to understand is the importance of all of our contributors being connected, watching these videos, and letting us know in real-time immediately when things are happening so that we can release our team and get the work done that needs to be done. We want you to understand our vision. Our vision is that we are one profession, right? We’re an agnostic organization. I have my own personal beliefs about Chiropractic, and I try my best to keep them where they belong.
This organization of The Chiropractic Defense Council is agnostic in the stance that we are here to protect the profession of Chiropractic. And we want to make sure that you have the ability to practice how you choose as long as we’re not losing our identity in the process. And so we’ve been very honest about that. Very forthcoming about that. And we’re going to continue to honor that promise to you as we move forward.
But right now, the tendency in our profession is when the house isn’t on fire to go ahead and just put our head back in a hole. We cannot do that. I’m telling you more is coming. And we have an opportunity right now to be positioned better than any other healthcare specialty to stand our ground and hold true for the sake of our patients the sake of our world and the sake of our profession.
So I’m asking you to see the bigness of what we’re doing. Please share this video with your colleagues. If there’s an opportunity for me to talk with your consulting group, or maybe you have a private group of chiropractors, we want more people connected to our organization. We have about 1,100 people in the United States that have been contributing which is an awesome number. And we love it.
But that’s kind of sad when we consider the number of chiropractors in the United States, the work we’re doing affects every single person that has a DC after their name. And all we’re asking for is $33 a month. I’m not asking for hundreds and hundreds of dollars every month.
We want to be able to provide you the real-time information on what’s going on, providing an outlet for you to ask questions where our legal team, our legislative teams, and all the teams that we have can make sure we get you viable concrete information back so that our profession is knowledgeable and prepared for the next battle that’s coming.
That is my plea to you. This week, we are at work. We’re gathering Intel, we’re building infrastructure. We’re looking at the signs and what we think is coming, moving forward. And a big part of that is you staying connected with us and sharing with us your information. So keep your emails coming. I read every single one of them, maybe not the day you send them, but I do read every single one of them and gather that information.
You guys are sending me research things. You’re sending me news clippings. All of those things are monitored by our team so that we gather all the information we can to make good, concise strikes in the areas that we need, to protect our rights. That is what The Chiropractic Defense Council is. That’s what we’re going to continue to be and we need your help in that process.
So lots of things are happening. I’m going to be sharing more with you after I have some of these meetings over the next couple of weeks, as we try to bring our profession back together to work together. Remember we’re trying to end the civil war so that we can create a revolutionary war. That is what I’m asking you to do. And The Defense Council is going to do everything in its power to ensure that that happens on behalf of our patients, our world, and our profession.
We love you. Have an incredible week, this week. Don’t ever stop telling the story. We know it’s an amazing story and you are better than anyone else at actually telling it. So don’t let anyone stop you from doing so. God bless you. We’ll talk to you next week. (This is a computer-generated transcript. Please forgive any errors.)
