Well, we’re still waiting to see if British Columbia is gonna actually do what it’s been threatening. It’s going to do. We have lots to share with you about the expansion of our legal team, to the work that’s happening across the rest of Canada, and even what’s happening around the rest of the world and how that is actually going to impact you there in Canada. So make sure you pay attention to everything that’s happening. Today’s update because you’re gonna wanna stay abreast of all of that information. So good morning, our Canadian chiropractors and allied health professionals. My name is Bharon Hoag. I am the executive director of one chiropractic and the chiropractic defense council coming to you today, Monday, February 28th, 2022 for your weekly update, lots of stuff happening all over the country. Specifically, let’s talk about British Columbia as that seems to be the biggest concern for so many of you.
We have yet an entire week where Bonnie has not put out the public health order. We still do not know what that looks like. You know, I’ve shared with you from the beginning. I don’t know. Oh, for sure. If it’s gonna come out, if I had to put a percentage on it, I’d say there’s still a 30% chance that this is a lot of smoke and mirrors, but we are not just sitting back waiting to see. We have been working diligently with our legal teams. We’ve expanded our legal team to include two constitutional attorneys. And we’re working in conjunction seven or six other specialties to have a very large group that is putting together a pretty significant piece of legislation or litigation rather to go before British Columbia, should they actually pull out the P O we’re also working with our existing legal team, looking at different aspects of how we’re working.
We’ve written let letters to the Lieutenant attorney general we’re getting ready and working on a letter, that’ll be going directly to Bonnie and to the government explaining why they need to have a reconsideration. If the P O actually is put out. So lots of stuff that, that are in the wings. But I, I, the more importantly, I want you guys to know that we’re not just sitting back and waiting. We’re very, very active. I’ve been on four different calls this past week with our legal team, looking at every possible angle and everything that’s happening in Canada, outside of Canada, the lawsuits that are happening in Australia, New Zealand really great news. New Zealand just had a massive lawsuit go to their high court from their poll lease and their defense force. And the court’s ruled in the favor of the police and defense force stating that a mandatory vaccine actually goes against their bill of rights.
So that was a, just a foundational win in New Zealand. That’s going to have implications around the rest of the world. I I’ve been trying to share with all of you from the beginning that we’ve gotta stop living in our side lows, and we need to understand how, what happens elsewhere affects us, where we’re at, that’s the whole vision of the defense council. That’s why we’re in so many different countries because we’re able to pull resources from other countries to bring in to your country. The work we’re doing in Australia are 42,000 page lawsuit that we’re bringing against the government of Australia. All of that work, all of that research. We’re gonna be bringing in here as well into Canada and making sure that they’re using this similar information as the work’s already been done. So lots of things happening, very excited to be working with other healthcare specialties.
I know we have a lot of allied health that are now jumping on with us as well. You’re we love having you, we’re happy to defend you as well as our chiropractors but lots happening in that regard. We’re going to be doing tonight, actually for British Columbia. We’re doing a, a zoom call for you guys to really explain what this lawsuit looks like to explain the implications of what’s happening and the importance of really rallying behind the defense council. So there’s a link in this email for you chiropractors. You know, we want you to jump on board with that as well. I know a lot of our allied health, there’s been some confusion. I know don’t know entirely where that’s coming from. But we’re working specifically with our chiros on this, but you guys will be covered in that lawsuit as well.
Again, it’s seven specialties are jumping on it, but the lawsuits not necessarily to carve any particular specialty out, it’s about making sure that we’re going after the mandate itself through the public health order. So those of you that are chiropractors, we want you to be a part of that zoom call depending on how that goes, we’ll record it and we will release it again. I always leave the caveat that if we get into conversations that I just can’t have floating around the internet, we’re not gonna be putting it out, but I, I believe that call, we’re gonna be able to share and allow others to see. So look at the link below the register for that. And you’ll get some more real time information about what’s happening in British Columbia around the west of the rest of the country. I wanna make sure that you’re aware of the other work that we’re doing had a good call bringing all of our attorneys together from Alberta, Ontario, British Columbia and we’re looking at different factors within the college is within those students that have been trying to sit and write for their exams that have not been able to do so we’re continuing to work on strategies and following filing letters.
We believe, especially in Ontario, as there’s no longer VAX passports, we should be able to get students to take their exams. I know the next one is in may. So we’re working continually with that to be able to protect the rights of our students as well. So make sure that you, you stay plugged in with us, those of you that are already tied with our legal team, and we’ll make sure to bring you more updates. But right now the important thing is, is to relax. There are, you know, we’re seeing more and more province and territories across Canada, you know, lifting their VAX, passports, lifting any mask, mandates, things of that nature.
